Weekend Visitors

Last weekend Art and Marion, our friends from Hawaii came to visit us for the weekend, their first time in Iowa! You may recall that we visited them last 4th of July in the Ozarks. We had a great time. I wasn't very good about capturing photographs, but here are some highlights! They got in on Friday afternoon, and after supper Marion and I went to a concert at our church followed by our neighborhood's ladies' night. On Saturday for breakfast we took them to The Machine Shed restaurant  for a little Iowa flavor. Here Marion tries out the putt putt:
Then we were showing them Iowa's gold-domed capitol building and decided last minute to go in. It really is beautiful:
Then we headed to Pella to the Tulip Festival, but it was really quite chilly and unpleasant so we didn't stay long. Here is a picture of Jacob with the tulips that had survived the previous night's frost!
Next we hit an Iowa Winery and had some barbecue before heading home. Sunday after church and naps we checked out the bridges of Madison County and the scenery along the way:
Monday included some errands and a trip to the mall. We had a great time! Here are some snapshots we took at a gazebo in Madison County:
